In June of 2021, Apple has announced their 18 major release “macOS Monterey”. macOS Monterey aka macOS 12 was announced on the WWDC21 platform to bring more joy to macOS fans.
macOS 12 has arrived as a successor of macOS Big Sur and macOS Catalina. If you are using macOS Big Sur or macOS Catalina, then your upgrade your macOS Monterey easily. You will need to go to Settings>System Preferences>Software Update.
As for now, Apple has released only the beta version; so, you can only use the direct links by us to download macOS Monterey in ISO or DMG file which can be used on VMware and Virtual Box or even on your Mac.
No matter either it is the beta or the actual version, Apple has made some changes to make macOS better than ever. New features are added to connect you with your friends and family.

DMG is an image extension of macOS, similar to ISO for Windows. DMG files can be used to create a bootable USB drive of macOS Monterey. If you want to use the DMG file, then you can download the setup file in ISO and convert it to DMG later on.

Features of macOS Monterey (12)
Universal Control
Universal Control one of the most exciting and my personal favorite. This will enable you to connect your Apple product (iPhone or iPad) to your Mac and use your trackpad or mouse on both of the platforms without any interruption.
Move your cursor on your Mac screen to your iPad or iPhone without exiting or using any other app.
FaceTime
In a group call, all of your colleagues/friends can be seen in the same size tilted. Any users who use the speakers to speak will be highlighted. There is a video effect for you to use too.
You can use the Portrait mode to focus on yourself instead of your surroundings. Inspired by the Camera app, Apple has bought Portrait mode to blur the background and focus solely on the user.
Now, FaceTime call is way more clear than before. We all have experienced group call where no one can understand each other. Spatial Audio will make your system focus on your voice instead of your background noises. This will remove all those background noises. To enable the feature, you will need to activate Mic mode.
The Wide spectrum is a unique feature that brings all the sounds in the group call into your call. This is quite useful for users who are learning music.
If you want to share your screen on your Mac then this will help. The feature provides an option to share your entire screen or certain applications.
SharePlay
SharePlay will enable you to play media files while you are inside your FaceTime. All the calls in the group can sync and enjoy the playback.
SharePlay is not just a noisy feature, it uses the Smart volume that helps to enjoy the music while having conversations with friends. Thanks to these features our FaceTime will more entertaining and realistic experience.

Bundles of images send to you will be stacked in a way beautiful way.
Improvement on Safari
The entire Safari app has been redesigned completely. All the tabs will be the same as the color of the website that you are on.
You can make groups of tabs, name and edit them. Switching between the tabs is super easy and can be accessed on other Apple products through sync.
There is also the option to drag the group directly and share them on email. All the links will be copied and can be shared with the user you want to.
Focus
If you are working on your Mac and don’t want to be disturbed, then will be helpful. The Focus will silent all the notifications that you have selected. So, that you can work solely on your project. For users who are concerned about their friends feeling ghosted, on each call/message their friends will receive the Focus notification until you will disable it again. This feature is also available on iOS too.
Quick Note
You can write down all your tasks and even tag your friends. The Quick Note will enable you to notify your friends or perform that task within a single click. On a visiting occasion, you can make a note and select a place that can be accessed by Apple Maps too.
Apple AirPlay
AirPlay enables you to share or play any media files with your friends. Your Mac can also work as third-party speakers too. Option to extend or mirror your media files to your iPhone or iPad from your Mac is valid.
Short cut apps
Numerous shortcuts are added to macOS Monterey.
Go To Folder
Inside the Finder, whenever you will copy or move any file, you will have a better understanding of the time thanks to the new Pie chart. The Go-To Folder has been redesigned too.
Re installation
There is Erase All Content option in the Settings. Basically, the feature deletes all the content on your Mac and makes it exactly like a brand new macOS. Except that it is the same as before.
Visual Lookup
Visual Lookup is a cool new feature that is used to identify landmarks, works of art, tell dog breeds, and plants on any picture. You will need to enable the feature and thanks to advanced AI, the app starts to understand the image.
Image text interaction
The option to interact with texts on pictures is also valid. You can edit or even copy the written text on any images and use them. Users loved the idea of using the address on an image which can also be used on Apple Maps.
Text to Speech
Users can use the text to speech features to write down while you are narrating. macOS Monterey supports Swedish, Danish, Norwegian, and Finnish languages.
Accessibility
The option to use macOS through voice commands is available. Voice Control can add new language options including Mandarin Chinese (China mainland), Cantonese (Hong Kong), French (France), and German (Germany). With advanced speech recognition technology, Siri takes every command accurately.
Translation
The system-wide translation is another feature that translates anything within clicks. Select any text either on images, maps or plain text and macOS will translate it for you.
Screen Time
With the increase of usage in digital accessories, macOS Screen Time will record your time on your Mac or on a certain application. The feature will display the full graph of usage with the option to notify you after a certain time.
Security
Changes in the privacy policies of Mail iCloud have been made. Now, your iCloud and Mail are more secure than ever. There is also an indication each time you use your microphone or web camera. Any kind of access will notify you with the indicator.
All of your FaceTime calls are made in end-to-end encryption. Each call will have a unique web link that can be shared with users on Windows or Android.
3D Apple Map
Improvement is made on Apple Maps. Details in cities such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, and London have been made highly. You can experience the 3D map for these cities. Even though- the 3D map was introduced in Big Sur but it was available for one city.
Now, the numbers have been increased with the option to pin your favorite places. You can select your favorite places and also select the routes that you feel easy in.
Memoji
Wide numbers of funny, sad, happy, excited, glasses, masks, and many more are added.
Low Power Mode
Low power mode when your system is low on juice.
Graphical support
Graphics has been improved. Now, the macOS supports graphic drivers as AMD FreeSync and Nvidia G-Sync.
