The error “Your PC does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for Windows 11. Your channel options will be limited error.” appears due to Microsoft’s recent security restrictions in Windows 11.

Since you can’t download Windows 11 directly from the Microsoft server. You will need to access the setup files in Preview Build through Developer or Beta Channel. If you can’t find channel options for setup, then you probably do not have an Intel 6th Gen or Ryzen 1000 processor, or your system is not compatible with Windows 11.

You can fix the error on your Windows 11 using the Windows Registry application. First, you will enable TPM and Secure Boot from BIOS then will enable the Developer Channel with Registry Editor. Before we start the procedure, let’s make sure you have at least the minimum specs for Windows 11.

There is a requirement for a CPU with 2 cores of at least 1 GHz or better. For Memory, you will need to have 4 GB of RAM or more. Your system should support 720p or better screen resolution with DirectX 12 and WDDm 2.0. The user’s system should also possess a TPM 2.0 feature too.

1- Enable TPM & Secure Boot from BIOS

If you know your ways around Windows OS, then you can easily apply the operation given below. However; if you are new then you can this article where we have stated on “How to Enable Secure Boot and TPM for Windows 11?” of your system in detail. To make it short here is how to do it.

First, run Windows 11 on your machine and click on the Start menu. There you will go to Settings and will open the Update & Security option.

Then you will click on the Recover option which is on the left side of your window.

Here you are going to click on the Restart now option and your system will start to restart.

You will be placed in Recover mode. in Recover mode, you are going to navigate and select UEFI Firmware Settings which is basically in the Advanced option window.

Then you will go to BIOS (basic input-output system) and select the Security option in the menu. In Security, you are going to enable the TPM state and then will move to the Boot option. There you are going to enable the Secure Boot.

Note: the names of the features in the menu might be different. However; once you are in BIOS then you can easily find the options above as they are mostly with the same or matching names.

2- Enable Dev Channel with Windows Registry

Now is the time to enable the Developers channel. There are two ways to enable the features. There is the option to use the method given below or download a script file (is given at the bottom of the article) and use the script file for enabling the feature.

Start the operation by running the RUN application and typing “regedit” inside it.

You are now placed in the registry of Windows 11. Here you are going to find the “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\UI\Selection”. Once found, you will double click on UIBranch and will change the value from Release Preview to Dev.

Then you are going to find UIContentType and change its value to Mainline. Find UIRing and change its value to External.

It is time to navigate and find “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsSelfHost\Applicability”.

Inside, you will change the BrachName value to Dev, ContentType value to Mainline, and Ring value to External.

Here you are going to restart your system and you have successfully fixed the error. Now you will experience Windows 11 Preview “Your channel options will be limited Windows 11 error.” as fixed.

NOTE: changing registries can break your entire OS. So make sure you are careful and are changing the only registries that are asked from you here. Since Windows 11 is totally new, breaking the chances of the operating system is even greater.

Other method to enable Dev Channel

Once the script is downloaded then you will right-click on it and will run it as administrator.

Windows Insider Program Channel will run on your screen.

Here you are going to select the Dev channel and press Enter.

Then you will reboot your machine and congratulation you have successfully fixed the “Channel Options will be Limited Windows 11 Error” error.
